River Swing Fundraiser

February 7, 2019 |  OSMRE VISTA, Molly Warner, had great success this quarter serving with Harpeth Conservancy, in Franklin TN. Molly helped host numerous outreach events, such as the annual fundraiser, “River Swing”. Molly also accomplished a river clean up, wrote three grants, helped with the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, and presented the “Citizen Action Guide”, an educational booklet, to young students.

Molly partnered with another AmeriCorps member, serving with the Tennessee State Parks, to develop environmental education modules to inform and demonstrate the importance of environmental stewardship in Middle Tennessee. After teaching the students of Murrell School in north Nashville, she and the AmeriCorps members distributed their “Citizen Action Guides”, a guide on how to be a Citizen Scientist and the value of data collected by citizen scientists
