Gulf Islands National Historical Park
Turtle THiS (Teens Helping in the Seashore) interns serve Gulf Islands as a citizen scientist to conduct field work to learn about the impact of neighborhood lighting on sea turtle nesting and people and the community can help protect sea turtles. Additional interns serve under the Interpretation department, providing information to park visitors surrounding the areas historical significance and it’s ecological, and conservation efforts along the Florida pan handle and Mississippi River.
